Rimi invites to Baltic Sustainability Awards 2024

As a founding partner, Rimi is inviting to apply for the Baltic Sustainability Awards 2024 highlighting projects and initiatives that serve as an example towards a greener and more sustainable future. This year, the Baltic Sustainability Awards will take place for the fourth time. Companies, green technology start-ups, organisations and sustainability ambassadors from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia can submit their achievements for the award in 11 categories.

Last year, the Baltic Sustainability Award received more than 240 applications—32% from Latvia, 29% from Estonia, and 33% from Lithuania. Last year's finalists included sustainability leaders such as Aterones Engineering, Augstsprieguma tīkls, Tet, Sonido, and Oxylabs.

The 11 categories of the Baltic Sustainability Innovation Awards cover all major areas of sustainability, from technological breakthroughs and innovations to inspiring leaders:

  • Food innovations (powered by Rimi)
  • Circular Economy
  • Climate Innovations
  • Energy Technologies
  • Social Initiatives
  • Urban Development
  • Biodiversity & Conservation
  • Transport and Mobility
  • Regenerative agriculture
  • Manufacturing & Industrial Symbiosis
  • Sustainability Ambassador

The submissions will be evaluated by a specially selected jury of experts from across Europe, while the evaluation process will be managed by EY Baltic, the award's methodological partner and the leading business advisory firm in Latvia.

"We are convinced that developing sustainable solutions for a better tomorrow is unthinkable without innovation. That is why we are proud to be able to highlight Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian sustainability innovation success stories on the stage of the Baltic Sustainability Innovation Awards for the fourth time this year. We look forward to this two-day event to bring together global experts and sustainability leaders, established market players and start-ups, organisations and community representatives from across the Baltics to discuss and foster collaborations that can make a significant impact,” says Zanda Šadre, Corporate Responsibility and Communications Director at Rimi Baltic.

Applications are open until 6 October at https://www.balticsustainabilityawards.eu/. The award ceremony will take place on 26 November in Riga, while the all-day conference will take place on 27 November at the Splendid Palace in Riga.
