Talent Lab is a new-concept Rimi trainee programme that took place in all three Baltic States. Four young people participated in the programme in Latvia, while the Estonia and Lithuania sections worked with two young trainees each. After the conclusion of the trainee programme, all of the participants were offered jobs with Rimi, which they happily accepted.
The programme offered management trainees the broadest introduction possible to work in the retail sector. For example, they had the opportunity to work in various Rimi store formats, but they also gained experience in various Rimi office departments.
“The application process for this programme began right when I had finished my studies in Germany. Even though I already had work experience in Germany, I very much wanted to work in Latvia and get to know my country’s labour market. I am very happy that through Rimi’s Talent Lab trainee programme I had the opportunity, in a relatively short time, to learn about the daily work of specialists in various areas and also gain a general understanding of the retail sector at a large and international company,” says Olga Eglīte, who, after finishing the trainee programme, will begin working in Rimi Latvia’s category management department.
