Edgar Sesemann has been in the retail business for over 35 years and has worked in various companies and positions. In 2008 Edgar began working at Rimi Estonia as Country Managing Director and in September of 2008 he moved to the position of CEO of Rimi Baltic. His responsibilities as CEO of Rimi Baltic include balancing owners, employees and customer expectations at Rimi Group. Rimi as an organisation is very dynamic and it is encourages that every employee puts forth and executes their good ideas.
In addition to his business experience, Edgar has obtained a business education and completed multiple international leadership programs.
Since October 2007, Valdis Turlais has been the Rimi Latvia Country Managing Director. He has more than ten years experience with various large international companies. Prior to this position he has been responsible for forming all three Rimi Latvia store formats: supermarkets, hypermarkets and Supernetto hard discount stores, where he has obtained a varied experience and has a good knowledge of the company’s structure and operational principles.
To Valdis, Rimi means the opportunity to build a fair and open business. Through both the parent company's experience and ingenuity and enthusiasm, Valdis and his team are working on developing the best stores in Latvia. This is a sector that Valdis is very interested in and it requires a creative approach.
Vaido Padumae has led a dynamic career path during his 16 years with the company, providing him with tremendous experience and knowledge about every level of operations at Rimi Baltic. Since January 2017, Vaido Padumae is a Country Managing Director of Rimi Estonia.
As a Central Sourcing Director, Vaido lead the Rimi Baltic Sourcing teams and took care of functions such as Quality & Corporate Responsibility and Business Intelligence. Working closely with the Category Management teams, Vaido also developed the Rimi assortment and buying processes at the Baltic level.
Vaido holds a Master's degree in public administration and EU studies from Academy Nord in Estonia.
Per Dahl has been the Country Managing Director of Rimi Lithuania since August 2013. Before joining Rimi Baltic, he worked for various subsidiaries of ICA Group for many years and accumulated experience in the commerce, finance and business management sectors.
Per is a graduate of the Stockholm School of Economics where he obtained his M.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration. His international experience in management in combination with a deep knowledge of retail is his biggest strength. He is passionate about his work at Rimi Baltic, which he describes as a company with constant development, with a focus on developing relationships with customers, employees, suppliers and society as a whole.
Maria Holmström has been Rimi Baltic’s CFO since August 2013, with over 30 years experience in the retail and industrial consumables businesses. Before joining Rimi, Maria had seven years experience in acquisitions, change management and establishing financial functions across all the Nordic countries, making her comfortable in environments where there are challenges and problems to be solved.
Maria holds a Master's of Science in Business and Economics from Uppsala University and Advanced Management Education from the Stockholm School of Economics. It's important to Maria that her team members continually develop their skills, are satisfied with their working conditions and are presented with challenges to facilitate growth.
Ruth Laatre joined Rimi Baltic with over 10 years’ experience in the fields of corporate finance and private equity. In 2005 Ruth began as a managing director of Rimi Estonia and as of 2008 has been responsible for the Rimi Baltic Real Estate department. That has provided her with an excellent opportunity to work with a pan-Baltic team, as well as identifying the differences and similarities between the three Baltic countries.
Ruth holds an undergraduate degree in economics. Working in retail, corporate finance and investments sectors, Ruth has developed a broad understanding of different business management models and styles, and has acquired strategic management and teamwork skills.
Aiga Priede is the Logistics & Supply Chain Director and has been a part of Rimi Baltic for more than 10 years. Aiga is an expert in the FMCG (Fast-moving consumer goods) chain sector and has a deep understanding of WIIFM (what’s in it for me), thanks to her experience at various production companies. Working in this field brings new challenges daily, and Aiga’s strong and persistent character enables her to tackle them head-on.
Aiga has obtained her first degree in medicine but later studied economics and business as well as completed a significant number of leadership training programs. She believes in striving for continual learning and demanding the best from herself and others.
Dainis Berzins has been Rimi Baltic’s IT Director since June 2016. He has been leading IT service organisations, both internal teams and as a service provider, for more than 20 years. His particular areas of expertise are Lean and Agile development that are key to creating efficient and effective organisations. Dainis holds an MBA degree from New York University Stern School of Business. He brings with him extensive international experience from a range of industries. Even though technology plays an ever more important role, Dainis believes that it is the team members that are the key to a successful IT organisation.
Gundega Martinsone is the Retail Business Development Director at Rimi Baltic. She leads one of the most international teams, which provides additional value when it comes to having an even broader view on various topics, especially thinking about future customers. New developments including self-service checkouts, contactless loyalty cards, the mobile application and many more, are making our customers’ lives easier.
Gundega's undergraduate degree is in international law specializing in economics, and she holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration. She began her career in banking and has extensive experience working in that industry.

Pārsla holds an Executive MBA degree from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and has over 15 years experience in HR. Her particular strengths include strategic partnership and change management. Under her leadership, Rimi has launched a new Employer Brand platform and initiated various projects to improve its efficiency and to make Rimi a great place to work. She is inspired by freedom of choice and seeing other people grow and outperform themselves.
